Watch: BJP workers attack Karimnagar MLA camp office over remarks against Bandi Sanjay Kumar

Tension erupted in Karimnagar after BJP workers attacked and ransacked MLA Gangula Kamalakar’s camp office over alleged derogatory remarks by BRS leader Padi Kaushik Reddy against Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar. Police resorted to lathicharge to control the situation.

Karimnagar: Tension mounted in the town after the BJP workers attacked and ransacked the office of Karimnagar MLA Gangula Kamalakar, in protest against what they called as derogatory remarks of BRS legislator Padi Kaushik Reddy agianst the union Minister of State for Home, Bandi Sanjay on Thursday.

The BJP workers armed with stones and sticks raided the MLA office and damaged a car belonging to Kaushik Reddy, which was parked on the premises. Kaushik Reddy was present inside the office when the BJP launched the assault.


Earlier, speaking to reporters in a press conference at the camp office, Kaushik Reddy made some comments about the hair colour of the union Minister, which were considered as derogatory by the BJP workers. Recalling the statement of Sanjay Kumar that he had met his election costsby selling his wife’s jewellery, Kaushik Reddy wondered how the union Minister had amassed wealth and wondered whether it was sponsored by the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
Kaushik Reddy also made it clear that there was no question of tolerating any derogatory comments made against the BRS working president KT Rama Rao. On the question of using drugs, the legislator assured to bring the BRS leader for a drug test and challenged that the union mnister should also be ready for the test.

Enraged over Kaushik Reddy’s comments, the BJP workers attacked the camp office. They demanded that the MLA take back his comments and apologize to the union minister.
After comign to know about the the BJP plans to attack the MLA camp office, police rushed to the spot and tried to prevent them but in vain. As they refused to go back, police lathicharged the agitating workers. A few of BJP workers were injured in the incident. A huge police force was deployed at Karimnagar MLA camp office to avert any untoward incidents.
