Hyderabad: The UAE’s iconic Burj Khalifa in Dubai honoured Mahatma Gandhi’s journey with his illuminated images on the occasion of his birth anniversary on October 2.
The skyscraper was lit with colourful LED display and commemorated his 152nd birth anniversary.
Sharing Mahatma Gandhi’s prominent quote – “Be the change you wish to see in the world”, the Twitter handle of the iconic skyscraper, along with the video of the illuminated tower wrote: “Burj Khalifa celebrates Gandhi by honouring the father of a nation who’s been an inspiration to many generations.”
Gandhi Jayanti is also marked as the International Day of Non-Violence on account of the non-violent – Ahimsa – strategy adopted by Mahatma Gandhi to help India secure independence from the British rule in 1947.
