Medak: Raising their voices over unresolved issues turned dangerous for some citizens during the Congress party’s roadshow in Medak town on Thursday night, as party workers assaulted them while Minister G Vivekananda and TPCC president Mahesh Goud looked on without intervention.
The high-handedness of Congress workers was on full display at the roadshow held at Ramdas Chowrasta in the district headquarters. When one individual raised concerns about not receiving a promised loan waiver, he was grabbed and beaten by the workers.
The farmer collapsed under the assault and was later rescued by police, who moved him out of the venue. In a separate incident, another person who questioned the denial of a government house was similarly attacked by the workers.
During Minister Vivekananda’s speech, yet another man tried to raise a grievance. The Minister ignored the plea, prompting the man to hurl a maize cob in his direction, narrowly missing him.
