Hyderabad: The traffic safety sense of a dog, and the lack of the same among human drivers, has become the topic of discussion on Twitter after a video tweeted by the Cyberabad Traffic Police.

Driving under the influence of Alcohol; Driving in opposite direction; Driving without Driving License by both the riders.

The video, of a non-fatal accident at Kukatpally Y Junction that happened around 11.30 pm on May 11, shows a bike rider crossing the road in the wrong route and colliding with another bike coming from the opposite side. Both lie without moving on the road till a pedestrian comes running and helps them.

According to the police, one bike rider was driving under the influence of alcohol while both riders were driving without a valid license. Driving in the opposite direction was the third violation.

Interestingly, a dog that is seen in the video, tweeted as part of creating awareness on road safety, is the point of discussion in the comments that have been posted in response to the tweet. The dog, just a few seconds before the collision, is seen carefully stopping near the zebra crossing, checking both directions and after making sure no vehicle is coming, calmly strolling across.

This is in stark contrast to the bike riders who rush across, commit multiple violations and end up colliding with each other, a point that several people point out in their responses to the video.

As for the riders, police said both were alive.

“Both are alive. Necessary action will be taken according to the law,” the Cyberabad Traffic Police replied to a query on the condition of the two riders and the punishment for the violations.
