Hyderabad: It’s an event of history making for Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa Pipe Band, which has now become an overnight sensation on the Internet-for having delivered an exciting performance at the Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey. The Hindu-Scottish pipe band played Dhoom Machale from the movie Dhoom as King Charles and Queen Camilla entered the location to create that unexpected but unforgettable cultural crossover.

Upon this moment no one noticed the moment initially. It was after a video of their performance landed on Instagram that people began to swoon over it, with lots of desis wondering why and how this could be possible. But doubts flew with the mention of the event being covered by the BBC, which proved that indeed, this was really how the royals welcomed guests into their fold.

Long known for performing at prominent occasions and in front of royalty, the Swamibapa Pipe Band is a unique presence on the global stage because it combines traditional Scottish bagpiping with Hindu music and boasts branches in the UK, India, the USA, and Kenya.

Thousands of social media users had a fruitful day commenting on this video. There were jokes that this was the secret project of Dhoom superstar Hrithik Roshan, while others implied that this was undercover work to find Kohinoor.

Though in jest, the performance added a melange of cultures in what proved to be an unexpected yet joyous moment in music- an East-West fusion.
