Hyderabad: The next time you take a flight from Hyderabad International Airport, you might come across a four-wheeled robot serving food. Yes, you read that right—a food delivery robot is being tested at the airport to deliver coffee, tea, and snacks to passengers.
Though the service has not been officially launched, some air travellers who encountered the robot during trials expressed surprise. “Minerva has introduced a game-changing robot service. Just scan the QR code to order, and the robot will deliver your favourite food directly to your gate. It’s the future of travel convenience,” wrote air traveller Kailash Lakhyani on X, sharing visuals of the robot.
Branded as ‘Robot Food Delivery to You,’ the autonomous delivery bot is similar to those used in other international airports. The initiative is part of Hyderabad airport’s push to enhance passenger convenience with technology and automation.
Travellers will be able to use an app or self-order at the spot for a steaming cup of tea, coffee, or snacks from the robot. The service is being tested in collaboration with Minerva restaurant chain, GMR Aero, and RG Fresh.
