In recent times, several cities have witnessed wild animals like leopards pay a visit in the urban areas. In a similar incident, a leopard went down a well in Nashik, not just to quench its thirst, but to also chase for fun.
And that’s when a domestic cat that had come face-to-face with the leopard had its whiskers straight like a pin in astonishment.
The leopard had fallen down a well in Nashik while chasing the cat. It was later rescued and released in its natural habitat, says Pankaj Garg, Deputy Conservator of Forests, West Nashik, said.
Reports said the rescue wasn’t an easy one and it needed help from 15-20 Forest Department officials. The encounter was caught on camera and shared on Twitter by ANI. It has already received over 1,20,400 views and close to 3,642 likes.
“A leopard and a cat come face-to-face after falling down a well in Nashik,” ANI wrote.

The video shows the leopard jumping out of the water to charge towards the cat. Its face was just a few inches away from the smaller but courageous animal, which backs up a little but doesn’t run away.
Netizens asked if the cat was alive after the encounter. One user said the feline ‘courageously stood its ground’ to leave the leopard confused.
“The cat courageously stood its ground and the larger animal was a little confused seeing its own copy in a smaller variant,” commented the user.
Clarifying the same, ANI also mentioned in a comment: “Maharashtra, Nashik | Both the leopard and the cat that fell into a well during a chase were safely rescued and released by the forest department.”
