Hyderabad: A major water pipeline burst alongside the PVNR Expressway near Mehdipatnam here on Saturday afternoon, triggering a traffic snarl on the busy route.
According to the Traffic police, the incident happened near the PVNR Expressway on the Rethibowli-Attapur stretch around noon when the water supply line was operational. The burst, which saw water gushing out onto the road and flooding it in no time, is suspected to have been caused by a leakage.
On being alerted, an emergency team of the HMWSSB rushed to the spot and started repairs. The police regulated the traffic flow and streamlined it within a short time.
Water Board officials said repairs were in progress.
