Nirmal: Sighting of a leopard on the national highway 61 at Dilawarpur mandal centre triggered panic among motorists and locals early on Tuesday morning.
Motorists said a leopard crossed the national highway at a temple near Dilawarpur mandal headquarters. They recorded a video of the wild animal using their mobile phones. The video clip went viral on social media platforms as locals expressed fear following the incident.
On December 14, Bheema Bai from the village sustained minor injuries when a leopard, which was on the prowl, pounced on her near her cattle shed located on the fringes of a forest at Dedra village in Bazarhathnoor mandal in Adilabad district.
A leopard was sighted while crossing NH 363 road near Asifabad-Kagaznagar crossroads in Kumram Bheem Asifabad district on December 4.
Meanwhile, a tiger is moving in the forests of Luxettipet range in Mancherial. Its pugmarks were recorded. It had entered the forests of the district from Tiryani mandal of neighboring Kumram Bheem Asifabad district. A tiger is already residing in the forests of Vemanapalli mandal.
