Tesla has been boasting about bringing autopilot cars to the market for quite some time now. Yet, there seems to be a few loopholes that the automobile company has to focus on. This time, the video of a Tesla autopilot mistaking a moon with the yellow traffic signal has gone viral on Twitter.
A Twitter user named Jordan Nelson shared the clip where the vehicle was constantly misreading the yellow-ish moon in the sky as a yellow traffic light. Whenever the moon came into the picture, it showed a traffic signal on the screen with the yellow light shining through. Due to this, the car kept slowing down although there was no such thing seen ahead.
“Hey @/elonmusk you might want to have your team look into the moon tricking the autopilot system. The car thinks the moon is a yellow traffic light and wants to keep slowing down,” the caption said, tagging the Tesla CEO as well so that he could look into the problem.
However, netizens tried to figure out the reason for this misreading by the technology in the comments section of the post.
