In the shark-rich waters of Mexico, cage diving is popular in locations such as Guadalupe Island. But every adventure is fraught with an element of risk and this is a stark reminder of that.

Shark behaviour is said to be unpredictable. But the Great White Shark is especially known for its killer hunting instincts, curiosity and stealthy nature. These marine predators bank on their sharp eyesight, but often experience momentary blindness while attacking its prey.

This is exactly what seems to have occurred in the waters off Guadalupe Island, wherein the shark couldn’t see and slammed into the cage. Unable to swim backward, it forced its way inside, causing a terrifying moment for the diver trapped within.
