Water supply to be disrupted in parts of Hyderabad on January 8

Water supply in several parts of Hyderabad will be disrupted for 18 hours from January 8 morning to January 9 early hours due to emergency repair works and maintenance on major pipelines and power feeder systems, the HMWSSB said

Hyderabad: The water supply in several parts of the city will be disrupted for 18 hours from 10 am on January 8 to 4 am on January 9.

The affected areas include Malaysian Township, Madhapur, Kondapur, Doyens, Indian School of Business (ISB), Bharat Nagar, Moosapet, Gayatri Nagar, Balanagar, parts of KPHB and Balaji Nagar, Fatehnagar, Gopal Nagar, Hafizpet, Mayuri Nagar, Miyapur, Pragathi Nagar, Mytas, BHEL, MIG I and II, Rail Vihar, Hyderabad Central University and Chandanagar.


The HMWSSB, in a press release on Tuesday, informed consumers that emergency repair works would be taken up to fix major leaks in the 1600 mm diameter Phase-3 main pipeline from Peddapur to Singapur. Under the supervision of TS Transco, MRT testing, hotline repairs and routine maintenance works would also be carried out on the Peddapur feeder at the 132 KV Kandi substation.

These works are scheduled to be taken up from 10 am on January 8 to 4 am on January 9, resulting in disruption of water supply for 18 hours. Consumers in the affected areas have been requested to use water judiciously.
