On head coach Ashish Nehra, the fast bowler said that all that he's doing was passing on that knowledge that he has about the game, being able to adapt to situations, going into games with a lot of clarity.
Hyderabad: Gujarat Giants pacer Prasidh Krishna, who played a key role in the team’s victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL league match here on Sunday night, says that coming on to bowl the sixth over or after power-play definitely helps when the scoreboard shows two or three wickets down.
“So, that is helping me do my job better. I think he’s coming off a good, good practice session,” Prasidh informed the media in the post-match briefing.
“We’ve had great sessions together. All the work that he’s (player of the match Mohd Siraj) put in from January or February that he’s been working on. Everything is going well,” he said. “He’s releasing the ball well, feeling confident,” he added.
“I think if you look at the wins that we’ve had, they came with a lot of understanding of what the wicket is behaving like and adjusting our game plans accordingly,” Prasidh said.
“So, if as a bowling unit we are able to do that consistently, it is really helpful going forward in the tournament. Well, the pitch was slightly slow when we got on to bowl,” he said.
On debutant Washington Sundar batting up the order, Prasidh said was somebody that could do the job at all places. “Like I said, we have a team where luckily we have the people that have the skill levels to bat at any number, bowl at any stage of the game. And, that worked for
us,” he said.
On the pitch, Prasidh said it was not really coming off, the fuller lengths were like when Abhishek got out as well that didn’t really
get on to the bat. “So, looking at that, it became very clear that we had to bowl straighter lines and we were able to do that pretty well,” he said.
“We have the bowling unit where any of us can bowl at any stage of the game and given the skill levels all of us have, we should be able to do all the roles pretty well. And, for me, having bowled a lot of outside power play bowling in 50-year cricket, it just makes it that much more the clarity that I have coming on,” Prasidh said.
On his own bowling, the soft-spoken Prasidh said that it was important that he hit the length right. “And, now that I’m hitting my lengths right, (2:39) I think the slower ball is as effective,” he said.
