Hyderabad: Musician, businessman and actor Sunny Leone’s husband, Daniel Weber’s latest chat show on Instagram – Stories of Hope – is helping people stay positive in this time of crisis. With close to 30 episodes released, the show gets experts from various fields live to educate us on the current situation and give tips on how to cope mentally. It also connects people to useful resources.
Guests that have been on the show so far are Sachin Bangera from PETA India, Aishwarya Jain from IM Happiness Global, filmmaker-writer Vikram Bhatt, Dr Sunita Dubey, motivational speaker Anand Chulani, producer Anand Pandit and many more.
Speaking to Telangana Today, Daniel shares, “I’m someone who is always watching and reading the news. So when the second wave hit us, seeing people suffering and dying due to shortages hit me hard. I probably knew 50 people who were sick at that point. Sunny noticed how sad I was all the time and I told her I wanted to do something more than just giving away money. That’s when I decided to start this show.”
The response for the show has been phenomenal and Daniel gets emails and messages all the time. “People tell us that they could get help in getting medicines, food, ICU beds, ambulances and more through the people I’ve interviewed on my show. It has been remarkable,” he shares.
Talking about his personal experience in the pandemic, Daniel says that his number one focus has been to keep his kids safe. He adds, “I get anxiety from staying in one place. Everyone is going through a difficult phase – I’ve had a million moments of anxiety in the past one year. Talking to your loved ones and keeping yourself engaged helps. Don’t shut off and internalise. Do not for one second think that you can’t vent your feelings out because you’re stressed, depressed or anxious. We will get through this by being there for one and another.”
