Hyderabad: The notice phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls is underway in 119 Assembly constituencies across the State, with 61 lakh notices already being served to electors.

The notices are being issued under categories – anomalies such as mismatch of name, spelling error or age, and no mapping with SIR 2002 list.

Electors who fail to attend the hearing on the designated date and time due to work, an emergency, or lack of required documents need not worry. Such electors have an opportunity to seek another date for the hearing and submit the required documents to the Booth Level Officer, AERO or ERO. They can also walk into the polling station and submit the details there.

However, such a provision is available till the notice, claims and objections phase ends. As per the SIR revised schedule, the individuals can raise claims and file objections on the draft electoral roll until October 7.

The notice, disposal of claims and objections phase will conclude on November 5. The final electoral roll publication is scheduled for November 9.

According to the Telangana Chief Electoral Office sources, electors who fail to respond to notices within the deadline will not be included in the final electoral rolls. Such electors have to submit Form-6, along with prescribed declaration, for inclusion as a voter.

The SIR electoral roll process began for a total of 3,38,26,448 electors in the State. Among them, 2,64,87,213 submitted their enumeration forms. A total of 73,39,235 electors were categorised under the Absent, Shifted, Death and Duplicate (ASDD) vote category.

Among those who submitted their forms, issues were identified in forms of 92,87,577 electors, with 60,50,918 voters having anomalies such as mismatch of name or age and spelling error in name, and 32,36,659 electors failed to map themselves with the SIR 2002 list.
