Hyderabad: The first single from Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Coolie is finally here! Titled ‘Chikitu’, the song dropped on Wednesday, June 25, as a lively music video and has already grabbed everyone’s attention.

What makes this song stand out is its presentation. It features a fun tribute to Thalaivar, with actor-filmmaker T Rajendar and music director Anirudh Ravichander imitating Rajinikanth’s signature dance moves. The track also includes quick glimpses of the superstar himself grooving, adding to the excitement. The vibe of the song is fresh and quirky, very different from Anirudh’s usual massy soundtracks.

The lyrics are written by Arivu, who has also sung the number along with Anirudh and T Rajendar. The music video, which blends nostalgia and energy, is already becoming a fan-favorite online. While some are still warming up to the experimental sound, many are loving the celebratory tone and retro styling.

Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by Sun Pictures, brings together a impressive cast including Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Upendra, and Manjummel Boys fame Soubin Shahir, with a special cameo by Aamir Khan.

The film is all set to hit theatres on August 14, 2025, and will face tough competition at the box office from War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. With two giants releasing on the same day, it’s going to be an epic cinematic clash.
