WhatsApp to make accepting of terms of service optional: Report

Hyderabad: Popular messaging app WhatsApp is reportedly looking to update its terms of service wherein it has made it optional for users to accept the terms. According to a report by WABetainfo, “WhatsApp will officially announce that users can still use WhatsApp to chat with friends and family without accepting the updated Terms of Service”.
The WABetainfo is an independent portal where one can discover news and real-time updates about WhatsApp and it claims that the ‘optional acceptance of terms of service’ will feature in the future updated version. The report, however, claims that if a user wants to send a message to business accounts that use cloud providers, then they will have to accept the terms.
“If you want to chat with a business account that uses cloud providers, you will have to review and accept the terms, as shown in the screenshot,” it said. The report also mentioned that WhatsApp is planning to announce this change about the Terms of Service very soon by releasing a new update on WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS that supports this change.
