Kangana Ranaut on Friday alleged that she has not received any support or praise from female colleagues in the film industry, and revealed the reason why she is on Twitter.
“There is not a single actress in this industry who I have not supported or praised here is the proof, but non of them ever showed any support or praise for me, have you ever thought why? Why they gang up on me? Why this conspiracy to look through me and my work? Think hard (sic),” Kangana Ranaut tweeted.
Her tweet came in reaction to a fan page which shared a video where Kangana is appreciating other Bollywood female actors.
In a separate tweet, Kangana alleged that other actors never turn up for her film previews even though she attends theirs.
She wrote: “As you can see how comfortably I go for their movie previews when they invite by calling and messaging me directly, they send flowers and pamper me to sky and when I call them for my previews they don’t even take my calls now I bajao them every day cause that’s what they deserve (sic).”
Reacting to Kangana’s tweet, a fan wrote: “I see that you made earnest efforts to maintain harmony among your peers, but it seems like they never had the grace to reciprocate the same warmth…”
To this, the actor replied: “Agree, I always indulged in my craft to an extent that I had no sense of time and space whenver I emerged from my little bubble I saw horrible PR around me by these women trying to make me look insecure and unsupportive, hence decided to be here on twitter for seedhi baat no bakwas (straight talk and no rubbish) (sic).”
Meanwhile, on the work front, the highly anticipated song from Kangana Ranaut-starrer Thalaivi, titled Chali Chali finally released on Friday. The song perfectly captures the initial phase of Jayalalithaa’s cinematic career.
Kangana took to her Instagram handle and dropped the news of the song’s release with the caption “Embark on Jaya’s superstar journey where her enchanting charm made the masses her huge fans! #ChaliChali #MazhaiMazhai #IlaaIlaa out now!”
Taking cues from Jayalalithaa’s first film Vennira Adai (1965), Chali Chali replicates the iconic looks of the actor to perfection with Kangana embodying the persona of the legendary yesteryear superstar.
The song has a retro vibe, with sequences featuring Kangana dancing with flowers, twirling in saris, swinging with smiles, all of which were common sights on-screen in those days.
Shooting entirely in a studio format like the old times, the shoot lasted for three days capturing the varied looks of Jayalalithaa through the song. The song has been sung by Saindhavi Prakash and its lyrics have been penned by Irshad Kamil.
Ironically, having started her career at a very young age, Jayalalithaa herself wasn’t allowed to watch her debut film as it was rated ‘A’.
Creating huge buzz across the masses with the impactful trailer, Thalaivi has generated immense anticipation to witness the journey of Jayalalithaa’s life through the various stages.
From her struggles in the film world to the rise of her stardom as well as her battle through the political hurdles and ultimately emerging as the fierce leader who changed the shape of Tamil Nadu politics.
