Medak: An unidentified wild animal killed a calf on the outskirts of Nathnaipally on Saturday night. Farmers have been keeping their cattle in sheds on the forest fringe here.

The unidentified animal, which could have strayed out of the forest, attacked and killed the calf. The farmer found the calf lying in a pool of blood on Sunday morning and immediately alerted the forest officials.

After collecting the pug marks, Forest Range Officer Divya advised the farmers not to keep their cattle on the outskirts of the village. She also urged the farmers not to venture out of their homes alone. Meanwhile, the farmers urged the forest officials to capture the wild animal.
