The past seven months have been lonely and bizarre. The month of October has opened a new ray of hope starting with a week-long celebration for Wildlife at Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad. Even though these celebrations were conducted on a virtual platform, the interactive session on the first day followed by online competitions in various categories has evoked interests among all the participants.
The Zoo Day celebrations started on October 1 and continued till October 6. They began with a highly energetic and informative interactive session with a few zoo staff and veterinary doctors working at the Zoo.
The staff at first talked about the Zoo and its functions, animals and their care for some time and later allowed the student participants to put up their queries regarding the wildlife and its maintenance. The staff answered our queries one after the other with immense patience.
I got to know a lot about our Nehru Zoological Park, its functionality and the maintenance that happens there. I had asked a few questions and was satisfied with the response I received from the team of Nehru Zoological Park. After the session, I was very eager to visit the Zoo and have a look around.
The next coming days were all about online competitions on various topics such as animal photography at the zoo, drawing and painting competition, essay writing on favorite wild animals, making animal figures from waste materials.
I participated in a few of competitions. They were very enriching and engaging. I learnt a lot in the week long activities and I Am awaiting to visit the Zoo at the earliest.
