Adilabad: Renowned wildlife photographer Lingampalli Krishna, on Tuesday, emphasised the importance of creating awareness among students about tiger conservation. He was addressing a programme organised to mark International Tiger Day at a local school in Adilabad.
The event was inaugurated by the school’s headmaster, Aruna.
Krishna highlighted the urgent need to educate students on the role of tigers in maintaining ecological balance. Expressing concern over the dwindling tiger population in the district, he cited poaching, deforestation, and encroachment as major threats to the big cats.
He noted that felling of trees and human encroachment were forcing tigers out of their natural habitats, making them more vulnerable to poachers. “Poaching remains one of the biggest threats to tiger survival,” he said, calling for a collective responsibility in protecting the species.
