Will Blake Lively and Leighton make an appearance in ‘Gossip Girl’ sequel? 

The revival will continue to name drop some OG characters as they have been since the first episode.

‘Gossip Girl’ showrunner Joshua Safran spoke about the second half of season one of the sequel. To the excitement of fans of the superhit series, Joshua spilled out information on whether there will be more cameos from characters from the original series.

“There’s no series regular from the original coming back. Maybe that’s not true — sorry. None of the core five or six kids are in the back half. But there are cameos from original cast members and there are references,” he told ‘The Wrap’.

“Even just as simple as Episode 7 is a Thanksgiving episode. And you know, Thanksgiving on ‘Gossip Girl’, it’s a traditional event on our show and a traditional event in the world. And then, yeah, there are cameos and callbacks and some fun stuff,” he added, as reported on ‘Just Jared’.

Although we won’t be seeing fan favourites Chuck Bass, Serena van der Woodsen, Nate Archibald, or Blair Waldorf, we might get to see some side characters. The revival will continue to name drop some OG characters as they have been since the first episode.

If you missed it, there was recently an OG ‘Gossip Girl actor’ who reprised their role – Nelly Yuki, famous for being one of Blair’s minions and then her enemy.
