Will compensate farmers whose crops damaged: Thummala

Siddipet: Agriculture Minister Thummala Nageshwar Rao said that the crops in 24,000 acres were damaged across Telangana due to untimely rains and hailstorms which lashed the State on Wednesday and Thursday.
Nageshwar Rao, his ministerial colleagues Ponnam Prabhakar and Duddilla Sridhar Babu inspected the damaged crops in Ibrahimnagar in Chinnakodur mandal on Friday. The ministers interacted with the farmers to know the extent of the damage.
Speaking on the occasion, Nageshwar Rao said that the state cabinet under the leadership of the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy decided to extend all support to the farmers whose crops were damaged due to rains and hailstorms. With over 9,300 acres of crop loss, Rao said Siddipet farmers were worst affected in the state. Terming it as unfortunate incident, the agriculture minister said that they have already directed the agriculture, and horticulture department officials to conduct an accurate enumeration of crop loss so that the government can extend compensation to all the affected.
Ponnam Prabhakar assured the farmers that the government will compensate each and every farmer whose crops were damaged. Siddipet Collector Manu Chowdary said that the officials in the district were already on the job to prepare the list of the farmers.
