Nizamabad: BRS MLC K Kavitha said unable to face her father and BRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao politically, the Congress and the BJP were filing false cases against her as well as her brother and party president KT Rama Rao. She declared that they would not be cowed down to these intimidation tactics, and these would only make them more resilient to fight for the people of the State.

“No matter how many cases or arrests come our way, we will stand firm,” she declared, addressing a massive gathering at Nizamabad on Sunday. On her first visit to the erstwhile Nizamabad district after being released in the Delhi excise policy case, she received a grand welcome from BRS leaders and Telangana Jagruthi representatives.

Speaking on the occasion, Kavitha lashed out at the Congress and the BJP for prioritising vendetta politics to weaken Chandrashekhar Rao. She criticised the Congress government for failing to fullfill its election promises and arresting those who are questioning its policies. She demanded that the Congress spell out the fate of electoral promises including hiked social security pensions, unfulfilled assurances of two-wheelers for women graduates, and stalled initiatives like Kalyana Lakshmi. “What happened to Rs 2,500 monthly support for women? Where is the promised gold under Kalyana Lakshmi? Congress leaders must be questioned in every village across the State for their inaction,” she urged the people of Telangana.

The BRS MLC stated that the Congress had betrayed students, farmers, women and every section of Telangana. “Promises of 2 lakh jobs per year have turned into mere words. The few jobs provided are based on notifications issued during the BRS regime,” she said. She stated that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy replaced the people-friendly policing with the Congress-friendly policing, to push his agenda. She slammed the Chief Minister for attacking Telangana culture by redesigning the statue of Telangana Thalli. She added that the Congress leaders have forgotten that power is meant to solve people’s problems.

Targeting BJP, Kavitha said cases were being filed against her and others for questioning the Central government as well. “BJP misuses investigative agencies to silence dissent,” she said, calling for a united fight against Congress and BJP’s anarchy. She declared that the BRS would emerge victorious in the upcoming local bodies elections.
