Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Wednesday condemned the killing of BRS activist Uppula Mallaiah in a violent clash between Congress and BRS cadre at Lingampalli village of Nutankal mandal in Suryapet district.

He demanded swift action against the perpetrators, and declared that the party would not tolerate the murder politics of the Congress.Rama Rao expressed shock over the death of Mallaiah, who succumbed to injuries after a mob of around 70 Congress workers allegedly attacked BRS cadres with sticks and stones on Tuesday night. BRS mandal president Munna Mallaiah Yadav and 15 others were seriously injured.

“Unable to face elections democratically, the Congress is resorting to physical attacks. This indicates its complete degeneration and fear of defeat,” he said, warning that BRS would not remain silent if the Congress misuses power to unleash anarchy.

The BRS working president spoke to former Minister and senior MLA G Jagadish Reddy and former MLA Gadari Kishore to assess the situation on the ground.

He assured party workers that the leadership would stand firmly with them and extend full support to the family of the deceased and the injured. He wanted the police to initiate strict action against those involved in the attack and urged authorities to ensure justice without delay.
