Sangareddy: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Eatala Rajender said that he will withdraw from active politics if Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) wins Huzurabad by-election.
Addressing a rally during the Praja Sangrama Yatra launched by BJP State president Bandi Sanjay in Jogipet town here on Saturday, Eatala said that the BJP would not only win Huzurabad by-election, but also dethrone Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao by winning majority seats in 2023.
Challenging Chandrashekhar Rao and Finance Minister T Harish Rao to contest against him in the by-election, Eatala alleged that the TRS party was trying to lure voters with money and liquor. However, he said that they could not stop him from winning the election. The BJP leader said that 84 per cent of Telangana people were against Chandrashekhar Rao’s government according to an India Today survey. He said that Rao was now using his money power to attract the voters.
BJP State president and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay called upon the people to vote for the party to help them form the government for the first time in Telangana. Saying that the people of Telangana had given opportunities for both the TRS and Congress, the BJP president vowed to form a poor man’s government if they were voted to power in 2023 Assembly elections.
He said the TRS government had turned inactive towards public issues. Saying that Telangana was formed after hundreds of people sacrificed their lives, Sanjay said Chandrashekhar Rao’s family alone was enjoying the fruits. Accusing the TRS government of failing to utilise Central funds, he said Telangana State could build only 12,000 houses out of 2.91 lakh granted. He further said they could build only 400 houses out of 5,000 granted to Jogipet.
BJP leaders Kailash Vijayvargiya, Dr K Lakshman, DK Aruna, Nallu Indrasena Reddy, Jitender Reddy, Vivek, Babu Mohan, Enugu Ravinder Reddy, Tula Uma and others were present.
