Siddipet: Dubbak MLA Kotha Prabhakar Reddy lashed out at Congress government saying that the suicides and suicide attempts being reported in government residential schools reflects the ignorance of the government towards the plight of the students.

Following the suicide attempt reported at BC Residential School at Habsipur near Dubbak on Saturday, Kotha Prabhakar Reddy visited the school on Sunday and interacted with the students to learn about their issues.

Speaking on the occasion, Reddy suggested the students and their parents just walk into his office anytime if they had any issues.

He asked the students not to take any extreme decisions, assuring to extend all support to them.

The BRS MLA vowed to raise the negligence of residential schools by government in the assembly during the ongoing budget session.

Reddy also spoke to the principal and district educational officer and asked them to extend the best facilities to the inmates. He said that such incidents will impact the performance of students when the examinations are around.
