Khammam: The State government was making committed efforts to take information technology (IT) industry to tier-II cities like Khammam and others in a big way, stated Transport Minister, Puvvada Ajay Kumar.

At a programme at IT Hub here on Friday the Minister handed over offer letters to 16 newly recruited graduates appointed by software companies like Teksky and Unicorn Technologies.


He said the IT Hub was set up to create job opportunities for local youth and many national and international companies have set up their offices in the hub. The youth should make use of the opportunities, grow in their career and earn fame to Khammam.

Ajay Kumar informed that in April, IT, MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao laid the foundation stone for IT Hub phase-II to be built with Rs 36 crore with a built up space of 55, 000 square feet with a 570 seat capacity in Khammam.

The IT Hub-II was being set up keeping in view long term perspectives and to cater to the additional demand. Steps were being taken to complete the construction of the second IT Hub as per schedule to offer employment to more graduates.

Many companies from the US, Australia and other nations were showing interest to set their base in Khammam. In addition to offering jobs, skilling activities were also going on with the help of Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) at the IT Hub, Ajay Kumar noted. The IT Hub coordinator, Lax Chepuri, educationist, Gundala Krishna and others were present.
