Hyderabad, : The BITS-Pilani Hyderabad on Monday inaugurated Nalini Kurra Wind Tunnel Facility, a cutting-edge research facility designed to propel research in aerospace, automotive, and structural engineering, a press release said.
The state-of-the-art facility, made possible through generous contribution by alumni, Goutham Kurra, co-founder, Wisq and Glint, has been completely designed internally, to drive research and innovation in aerodynamics, renewable energy, and advanced engineering.
It would also provide a platform for startups to test prototypes for drones, wind turbines, and electric vehicles, while strengthening hands-on learning and interdisciplinary projects for students.
The Wind Tunnel Facility has ability to simulate, analyze airflow over objects and recreate various wind speeds and environmental conditions, enabling precision testing. It will benefit students and faculty in fields like aerospace engineering, mechanical design, and structural analysis.
Goutham Kurra, Raju Reddy, co-founder of Kakatiya Sandbox, Sierra Atlantic, Prof. V. Ramgopal Rao, Vice Chancellor, BITS Pilani, Professor Soumyo Mukherji, Director, BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus) and Prof. Arya Kumar, Dean, Alumni Relations were present.
