Hyderabad: Wise, the global technology company, celebrated the opening of its new full-stack office in Hyderabad with its APAC leadership in town for the milestone. Since beginning hiring efforts in April, the team in Hyderabad has grown to 70 people across engineering, operations, and people functions.
The company continues hiring for hundreds more roles across product, engineering, operations and more in Hyderabad over the next few years. The local team will play a key role in Wise’s mission to become the network for moving and managing the world’s money, building products and features for India, as well as contributing to the company’s global roadmap, a press release said.
India has long been a key growth market for Wise. The company first started powering inward remittances for India’s diaspora in 2013, before launching lightning-fast transfers from the country in 2021, it said.
“At Wise, we put our customers first, which means everything we build at Wise is driven by customer needs. Together with the APAC leadership team, we have found immense value in speaking directly with our customers this week to understand their unique cross-border payment needs. We are truly excited to bring these insights to life with our growing team in Hyderabad and help shape the future of global money movement,” said Smrithi Ravi, APAC Head of Engineering at Wise.
