Hyderabad: AICC spokesperson D Sravan demanded that the State government withdraw its plans to auction government lands.
“In the past, Congress government had issued orders to desist sale of government lands for revenue generation. In 2015, the State government had promised to implement the orders but is now taking a U-turn,” he alleged at a media conference here on Friday.
“Lands are meant for public utility and the move to auction government lands is a conspiracy,” said Sravan and demanding an all-party meeting to discuss the issue. Meanwhile, former Irrigation Minister Ponnala Laxmaiah said that irrigation projects constructed during the Congress regime were ensuring sufficient water for agriculture requirements unlike claimed by the State government.
The State government should release a white paper on irrigation development in the State, he demanded.
