Hyderabad: A woman has been arrested for allegedly murdering her husband with the help of her lover, nearly seven months after she approached police claiming he had gone missing.
The case, initially registered as a missing person complaint by the Miyapur Police in November 2025, took a dramatic turn after investigation officials, during course of probe, recently uncovered evidence pointing to the wife’s involvement.
During the investigation, police examined the suspect woman’s call records and CCTV footage, which allegedly revealed that she and her lover had conspired to kill her husband, identified as Venkatesh (45).
According to information, the duo had transported the body to the Maharashtra border and buried it to conceal the crime.
The Miyapur police, with the assistance of local police in Maharashtra, had exhumed the body and identified it as that of Venkatesh. During questioning, the suspect woman reportedly confessed to murdering her husband, stating that he had become an obstacle to her relationship with her lover.
The police have taken the woman into custody, and efforts are on to trace and arrest her absconding lover.
The police have yet to announce details of the case.
