Woman arrested for allegedly stealing gold, silver worth Rs 15 lakh in Bandlaguda
A 44-year-old woman was arrested in Bandlaguda for allegedly breaking into her neighbour's house and stealing gold and silver ornaments worth around Rs 15 lakh. Police recovered the stolen valuables and burglary tools following an investigation and interrogation.
Hyderabad: A woman was arrested by the police for allegedly breaking into a neighbour’s house and stealing gold and silver ornaments worth around Rs 15 lakh in Bandlaguda.
The theft took place on May 30, when the complainant’s family left for Yadadri. On returning home, they found the locks of the main door and almirah broken and valuables missing.
Based on the complaint, a case was registered and an investigation launched.
During investigation, police zeroed in on the complainant’s neighbour, K Narsamma (44), who was suspected due to previous disputes with the family. She was detained and questioned.
Police said Narsamma confessed to the crime during questioning, admitting that she took advantage of the family’s absence to carry out the theft.
The stolen property, including over 8 tolas of gold ornaments and 1.8 kg of silver ornaments, along with tools allegedly used in the burglary, were recovered.
