Hyderabad: A woman police constable working in the Women’s Police Station in the city approached the Hyderabad Cybercrime Police saying unidentified persons had fraudulently obtained a bank loan in her name.
Police said the constable recently went to a nationalized bank where she had a savings account to apply for a personal loan. Bank officials, who verified her account details, found that there was already an active loan of Rs 80,000 in her name. The woman cop, who was surprised, denied taking any such loan, after which bank authorities verified and found that a person from Tamil Nadu had obtained the loan using the constable’s details.
Based on a complaint, the Cybercrime police booked a case and are investigating.
