Woman, daughter commit suicide in Suryapet

Suryapet: A woman and her daughter committed suicide by jumping into Saddala Cheruvu at Suryapet on Tuesday night. The deceased were identified as Palavarapu Nagamani and her daughter Pavani. Morning walkers found two pairs of slippers on the steps of Saddala Cheruvu on Wednesday and alerted the police.

Suryapet town police rushed to the spot and launched a search in Saddala Cheruvu with the help of expert swimmers. They fished out the bodies of the mother and daughter after some time.

Circle Inspector of Suryapet Ajnaneyulu said Nagamani’s husband Palavarapu Srinivas is a merchant in the town. During the inquiry, it was found that mother and daughter committed suicide allegedly due to family problems, he added. They may have jumped into the tank late on Tuesday night.

Suryapet town police filed a case and took up an investigation.
