Mancherial: Family members alleged that negligence on the part of doctors led to the death of a foetus in the womb at a private hospital in Mancherial. They staged a sit-in protest in front of the hospital late on Monday night, demanding action against those responsible.
The pregnant woman, Kummari Padma of Kagaznagar town, was admitted to the hospital after she experienced labour pains around 2.30 pm. She later delivered a stillborn baby weighing about 3 kg. Padma and her family members accused the doctors, particularly the gynaecologist, of negligence in handling the delivery and held them responsible for the death of the fetus.
The family claimed that Padma conceived after 16 years of marriage and said the foetus was healthy in all respects. They alleged that proper care was not taken during the delivery process, leading to the tragedy.
The doctors, however, attributed the death of the foetus in the womb to cardiology-related complications. They maintained that the delivery was handled carefully and in a professional manner.
