Woman dies by suicide after dispute over iPhone purchase in Hyderabad

A 42-year-old woman died by suicide in Kacheguda after allegedly consuming pesticide following an argument with her husband over purchasing an iPhone. Police registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.

Hyderabad: Following an alleged altercation with her husband over purchase of an iPhone, a 42-year-old woman died by suicide consuming unknown pesticide, in Kacheguda.

According to the police, the victim, identified as Priya (42), was residing in Kuthbiguda along with her husband Mallikarjun and their two daughters.

On Sunday morning, an argument broke out between the couple reportedly regarding the purchase of an iPhone.

Upset over the dispute, Priya allegedly consumed pesticide at home in the afternoon. Family members rushed her to the hospital, where she succumbed while undergoing treatment in the night.

The Kacheguda police have registered a case and are investigating.
