Woman dies by suicide after pushing two children into well near Hyderabad
A 35-year-old woman and her teenage daughter died after the woman allegedly pushed her two children into a well and jumped in following a domestic dispute in Shankarpally. Her 10-year-old son survived after clinging to a tree branch inside the well
Hyderabad: A 35-year-old woman allegedly died by suicide after pushing her two children into a well following a domestic dispute with her husband in Shankarpally on the city outskirts on Thursday night.
According to the police, Sudhakar and his wife, Vasantha (35), natives of Kodangal, had been residing in Kothapally village in Shankarpally.
Police said the couple reportedly had an argument during the night, after which Vasantha allegedly pushed her 15-year-old daughter, Navya, and her 10-year-old son into the well before jumping into it.
The boy reportedly survived by clinging to a tree branch inside the well, while Vasantha and Navya died.
On being alerted, the Shankarpally Police rushed to the spot and, with the help of locals and rescue personnel, rescued the boy and retrieved the bodies from the well.
A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact reason behind the alleged suicide.
