Woman dies by suicide in Hyderabad
A 23-year-old housewife, Jayanta, died by suicide at Musheerabad following harassment by her husband, Vinod Kumar. The couple have two daughters. Police have booked the husband under sections of abetment of suicide and cruelty by husband against wife
Hyderabad: A housewife died by suicide following harassment by her husband at Musheerabad in the city.
The woman has been identified as Jayanta (23), a native of Karnataka, residing in Musheerabad.
According to police, Jayanta married Vinod Kumar in 2016 against her family’s wishes. The couple have two daughters, aged five and three years.
“Since a few months, Vinod was reportedly torturing his wife over petty issues. On Monday evening, Jayanta consumed a poisonous substance kept in the house after a quarrel with her husband. She was shifted to hospital where she died,” said Musheerabad Sub-Inspector L Rajesh.
Police invoked sections of abetment of suicide and cruelty by husband against wife against Vinod Kumar. Investigations are ongoing.
