Woman dies, three injured as car plunges into open well in Hanamkonda
An elderly woman died and three others suffered serious injuries after their car lost control and plunged into a dry agricultural well on the outskirts of Mangalapalli in Hanamkonda district on Thursday. Police and locals conducted rescue operations.
Hanamkonda: An elderly woman died and three others injured as an out of control car plunged into an open well on the outskirts of Mangalapalli of Bhimadevarapalli mandal in the district on Thursday.
According to the police, Eluri Ravinder Reddy, Eluri Veera Reddy, Eluri Kiran and Eluri Radha (61) of Bommakal village in Saidapur mandal of Karimnagar district had attended a wedding ceremony in Potharam, Husnabad mandal in Siddipet.
While they were returning to their village by car after the event, the vehicle lost control on the outskirts of Mangalapalli and fell into a dry agricultural well by the roadside. As a result Radha died on the spot while the other three occupants suffered serious injuries.
Upon receiving information about the accident, the police rushed to the spot. With the help of locals, they carried out rescue operations; retrieved the woman’s body as well as the injured persons, who were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
