Woman dies, two injured as lorry dashes auto in Adilabad

Radhabai received fatal injuries when the three-wheeler overturned after being hit by the truck, resulting in instantaneous death for her and minor injuries to Sumitra and Shafeek.

Adilabad: A woman was killed on the spot and two others sustained injuries when a lorry hit the auto-rickshaw in which they were travelling on the outskirts of Echoda mandal centre on Thursday. The condition of the injured is said to be stable.

Echoda Sub-Inspector Akshansh Yadav said that the deceased was Chahakati Radhabai (45), a native of Dubarpet (A) village in Echoda mandal. The injured were Vedma Sumitra Bai Dubarpet (B) and Md Shafeek, auto driver from Madhapur village in the similar mandal.


Radhabai received fatal injuries when the three-wheeler overturned after being hit by the truck, resulting in instantaneous death for her and minor injuries to Sumitra and Shafeek. The three were returning from a town by the auto-rickshaw which was carrying groceries and LPG cylinders. Wedding of the Radhabai’s younger daughter was scheduled on Monday. The injured were shifted to Echoda government hospital.

The woman is survived by a husband, two daughters and son. K Vittal, son-in-law of Radhabai lodged a complaint with police. A case was registered against the driver of the lorry under the Section 304 A of Indian Penal Code. Investigations were taken up.
