Woman ends life with two children in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Following arguments over Christmas shopping with her husband, a 25 year-old woman along with her two children committed suicide by jumping into a pond at Jawaharnagar on the city outskirts on Saturday night.

S.Nagamani, a native of Prakasham district in Andhra Pradesh was married to Nageshwar Rao, who is working at a private visa consultancy in the city, in 2014 and the couple live at Venkateshwarnagar in Jawaharnagar police station limits for last few years. The couple had two children five-year old Ruby and eight-month old Pandu.

The incident came to light on Sunday afternoon, when some persons who noticed the bodies of the woman and two children in the Chennapuram pond in Jawaharnagar informed the police about it. On checking, the missing person details, the Jawaharnagar police matched it with the details of Nagamani and her two children who were reported missing since Saturday evening.

“Nageshwar Rao and Nagamani had an argument over Christmas shopping and some other family issues in last two days. On Saturday, the woman left along with the two children saying she is going away. In the night, Nageshwar Rao had lodged a complaint and a case was booked,” said D Mohan, sub inspector, Jawaharnagar police station.

The three bodies were retrieved from the pond and shifted to the Osmania General Hospital mortuary. A case under Section 174 of CrPC is registered by the Jawaharnagar police and investigation going on.
