Woman found dead in Khammam, son’s role suspected
Koppera Vaani was found unconscious in her house in the afternoon hours by her neighbours. When they tried to wake her up, she did not respond , following which they rushed her to a local hospital after informing her family members.
Khammam: A woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Khanapuram area in Khammam city on Tuesday.
Real estate dealer Koppera Lakshmi Narayana’s wife Koppera Vaani was found unconscious in her house in the afternoon hours by her neighbours. When they tried to wake her up, she did not respond , following which they rushed her to a local hospital after informing her family members.
After tests, the doctors at the hospital declared her dead. On receiving information from the locals, Khammam urban police reached the spot, shifted the body to Government General Hospital mortuary and launched an investigation into the incident.
According to the locals, the woman’s younger son, Gopinath, who was unemployed, had an altercation with his mother in the morning hours. They suspect that Gopinath might have killed his mother.
It was learnt that the suspect was taken into custody by police and was being questioned. Vaani’s mangalasutra and other gold jewellery were said to be missing.
