Hyderabad: The Uppal police arrested a woman on charges of kidnapping girl children and stealing their valuables by diverting their attention on Thursday. Police recovered gold and silver ornaments from her.
The arrested woman was, V Anuradha (32), a resident of Nandi Hills in Meerpet and a native of YSR-Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh. Since 2015, she was involved in nearly 30 cases. She was earlier arrested and imprisoned too. But after being released from the prison, she continued committing offences.

According to the police, Anuradha, who worked as a labourer in a private company, used to move around schools, busy localities, temples and target girl children aged between five and 10 years. She lured them with money, eatables and toys.
“She first talks to the children politely while observing the surroundings. She then quietly takes them to an isolated place and steals the valuables and escapes,” police said. Last week, she allegedly kidnapped a four-year-old girl who was playing in front of her house in Vanasthalipuram and took her to a secluded place and stole her earrings and silver anklets before fleeing. Following a tipoff, the police nabbed Anuradha while she was trying to dispose of the stolen goods.
