Woman IT professional allegedly murdered by former husband in Vanasthalipuram
A 30-year-old software professional was allegedly killed by her former husband in Vanasthalipuram. Police suspect personal disputes following their divorce may have led to the attack. The accused has been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway.
Hyderabad: A 30-year-old software professional was brutally murdered, allegedly by her former husband, in Vanasthalipuram on Wednesday, sending shockwaves through the surroundings.
The incident took place in Green City Colony under Vanasthalipuram police station limits. The victim has been identified as Sunitha (30), who was working in the IT sector and the suspect, Mahesh, is her former husband.
According to a preliminary investigation, Mahesh allegedly entered Sunitha’s house armed with two knives and a can of petrol. He reportedly attacked her with the knives and later smashed a flower pot on her head, resulting in grievous injuries and killing her on the spot.
It is learnt that Sunitha had divorced Mahesh and had recently remarried. Police suspect that personal disputes following the divorce may have led to the attack and brutal murder.
On receiving information, the Vanasthalipuram police reached the spot and took up investigation. Mahesh was taken into custody, but police have to announce the arrest.
