Nalgonda: A woman died on the spot while two others sustained serious injuries when a lorry rammed into the car they were travelling in from behind near Kattangur in the district on Thursday.
The incident occurred when the occupants of the car were changing a flat tyre on the roadside. Eyewitnesses said the speeding lorry failed to brake in time, leading to a severe impact that left the rear part of the car crushed and caused extensive damage. The victims could not be identified immediately.
Local police have registered a case and launched an investigation. Traffic was disrupted for several hours as the police cleared the wreckage.
