Woman killed, husband, daughter injured as truck rams motorcycle on NH-44

A woman was killed and her husband and 11-year-old daughter injured after a truck allegedly rammed their motorcycle from behind on NH-44 near Siddanthi Railway Gate. Police identified the driver, a Raichur resident, and took him into custody.

Hyderabad: A woman was killed and her husband and daughter injured after a truck rammed their motorcycle from behind on NH-44 near Siddanthi Railway Gate on Monday evening.

The woman, B Sony, was travelling pillion with her husband Syam Sundar and their 11-year-old daughter when the truck, allegedly driven rashly and at high speed, hit their bike.

Sony fell onto the road and was run over by the heavy vehicle, dying on the spot. Syam Sundar and their daughter suffered injuries.

The driver, Basawaraj of Raichur, Karnataka, was identified by police and taken into custody.
