Woman killed in a trash dump explosion in Hyderabad
“When she was segregating the trash an explosion occurred resulting in serious injuries to the woman. She died on the spot,” said the police.
Hyderabad: A woman was killed in an explosion at a trash dump at Mailardevpally on Sunday morning.
The victim R Susheelamma, who earned her livelihood by collecting plastic waste, came to Anandnagar in Mailardevpally on Sunday morning along with her husband.
“When she was segregating the trash an explosion occurred resulting in serious injuries to the woman. She died on the spot,” said the police.
On information the police reached the spot and summoned clues team and bomb detection squad. Personnel of the fire services also reached the spot.
The police suspect that the explosion might have occurred after the woman mishandled small cans containing some chemicals which might have been disposed by the workers of companies located nearby. However, the police are investigating.
Panic prevailed in the area soon after the explosion with people coming out of their houses. A huge crowd gathered at the spot following rumours of a bomb blast.
As a precautionary measure the police intensified patrolling in the localities around the Anandnagar. Senior police officials will be visiting the spot.
