Kumram Bheem Asifabad: One woman was killed on the spot and three others, including a child, sustained injuries when a speeding lorry collided with a motorcycle on the outskirts of Rebbena mandal centre on Sunday. One of the three injured is said to be in a critical condition.
Rebbena Sub-Inspector P Bhavani Sen said the deceased was Vemanapalli Sangeetha, a 28-year-old native of ACC colony in Mancherial. Sangeetha suffered head injuries when the truck mowed down the motorcycle at a curve near Rebbena mandal center, resulting in her instantaneous death. The injured were rushed to a government hospital in Kumram Bheem Asifabad district headquarters.
On receiving information about the mishap, Rebbena police rushed to the spot and shifted the body of Sangeetha to the district headquarters hospital, and made inquires into the accident. Rash and negligent driving by the lorry driver is suspected to be the cause of the mishap. A case was registered against the driver and investigations taken up.
