Woman kills child over extra-marital affair in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A six-year-old girl was allegedly murdered by her own mother in a disturbing incident reported in from Alwal.

Police said the suspect woman, Rekha, was allegedly involved in an extramarital relationship and believed her daughter Tanvika was becoming a hurdle to the affair. In a shocking act, she allegedly killed the child by throwing her into a water tank.

After the incident came to light on Saturday, the woman reportedly tried to cover up the crime by claiming that her daughter had gone missing. However, during investigation, police uncovered inconsistencies in her statements and later found that the child had been killed and her body dumped in the tank.

The Alwal police have registered a case against Rekha and her alleged lover, Sai and took them into custody.
